Los médicos de urgencias irán a la huelga en defensa de la especialidad
La Sociedad Española de Medicina de Urgencias y Emergencias (SEMES) iniciará una tanda de conversaciones con los sindicatos médicos para convocar una huelga después del verano en defensa de la especialidad en medicina de Urgencias y Emergencias que el Ministerio de Sanidad pretende rebajar a una mera área de capacitación específica (ACE). SEMES convocará concentraciones y movilizaciones en los centros hospitalarios mientras continuará con una campaña de recogida de firmas y buscará el apoyo de organizaciones de pacientes y partidos políticos ante el giro dado por Sanidad en las últimas semanas.
Estas medidas de presión han sido decididas por esta sociedad científica, que agrupa a más de 8.000 urgenciólogos, al comprobar que Sanidad no solo ha vuelto a incumplir la promesa que los últimos gobiernos, que por diferentes avatares fueron retrasando la creación de una especialidad en urgencias y emergencias primaria, troncal y vía MIR, sino que ahora se dispone a diluirla en un área de capacitación que no resuelve el problema de la formación específica y que dejaría a las urgencias y emergencias en una precaria situación, con los profesionales sanitarios frustrados y engañados y poniendo en riesgo la asistencia sanitaria urgente.
“Este Gobierno, lamentablemente para el país, no sólo es el que hace lo contrario de lo que promete, como viene demostrando en medio año de mandato, sino que, para colmo, pretende cambiar las reglas del juego en materia de las urgencias sanitarias, amparado en la confusión de la crisis para tomar decisiones muy graves que ponen en evidencia su incapacidad para gestionar una materia tan delicada como la sanidad y la salud de los ciudadanos”, ha dicho Tomás Toranzo, presidente de SEMES.
Si con los anteriores gobiernos popular y socialista el asunto de la especialidad había quedado decidida a favor de una formación primaria y troncal, de acuerdo con la proposición no de ley aprobada por unanimidad en 2007, el actual equipo del Ministerio de Sanidad “ha pasado de nosotros sin siquiera escucharnos, lo que nos obliga de nuevo a salir a la calle y explicar a los ciudadanos el porqué de nuestro compromiso con la especialidad, pues los principales beneficiarios de disponer de unos profesionales bien formados son los usuarios de los servicios de urgencias”, añadió Toranzo.
Según el estudio EVADUR de SEMES, un 12% de los pacientes de urgencias sufren efectos adversos al margen de su patología, de los que un 70% podrían evitarse y de ese porcentaje un 80% tiene que ver con la falta de formación específica en urgencias.
“SEMES, concluye Toranzo, está muy enfadada especialmente con algunos cargos del Ministerio de Sanidad, que han decidido por su cuenta llevar a las urgencias y emergencias a una vía muerta profesional. Pero si ni la ministra ni los altos cargos de Sanidad son capaces de reconducir la nueva deriva de las urgencias, debemos suponer que estos funcionarios no han actuado por su cuenta. Por tanto, para nosotros está claro ya que el ministerio ha iniciado esta incomprensible confrontación, y vamos a tratar de parar este sinsentido por los medios que sean”.
